West End Church is a worshipping community which seeks to glorify God by growing in faith, being open to and sharing in God's Word and Spirit. We seek to serve and support our local community. We encourage and promote a concern for people throughout the world because we believe that God's love embraces all of humanity.
Our congregation is a friendly group of middle-aged to older people and a few young adults. Worship tends to be a mix of traditional and more contemporary musical worship. There are a number of worship leaders in the congregation.
Under 'normal' circumstances we have a monthly midweek lunchtime communion service to provide a quiet, reflective space in the middle of the day. There are several housegroups for fellowship and study; they meet at various times during the week. The church has an active Ladies' group which includes ladies who are not members at West End. They have a varied and interesting programme of speakers and events throughout the year. Usually they meet on Tuesday evenings in the church building.
CAMEO caters for some of the older members and friends of the church. Meeting midweek monthly for fellowship and friendship with refreshments.
The church buildings sit in the heart of the residential West end of Hexham. They include two rooms and a hall which are well used by the local community including uniformed organisations, theatre groups, exercise groups, a brass band and male voice choir. The hall, in particular, is well used for parties and regular groups like Rugbytots.
West End seeks to serve the local community by providing and maintaining a place for worship and other purposes.
Regular services take place at West End every Sunday morning at 10.30am.
