Haltwhistle Chapel enjoyed a real community feel to Harvest Festival. Worship had the theme of sharing and offering, with a focus the text from 1 Timothy 6:17-19, "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of life that is truly life."

This scripture was brought to life and challenged our thinking, through drama and song and word, with Sunday school, and adults taking part in the service. Lunch was shared afterwards by about 70 people – a time of fellowship together and enjoying the abundance which God gives to us. The photo shows the Harvest Cross displayed outside the church on the High Street as a witness to our community.
